Over 1,000 Objects Stolen from Oakland Museum of California
A break-in at the Oakland Museum of California's (OCMA) off-site storage facility resulted in the theft of more than 1,000 objects.
Museum leaders and investigators suspect that the stolen items may soon appear in local pawn shops and second-hand stores.
Among the stolen items are:
- Modernist jewelry
- Native American baskets
- Daguerreotypes
- Contemporary everyday objects, such as political pins, trophies, and souvenirs
The break-in occurred at 3:30am on October 15, and was discovered by OCMA workers the following day.
