Preds Fall to Flyers Despite Wood's First NHL Goal

Rookie Matthew Wood scored his first NHL goal, but the Nashville Predators lost to the Philadelphia Flyers with a 4-1 final score.

The Preds outshot the Flyers 33-18, but the home team had the advantage where it counted. Preds Alternate Captain Ryan O’Reilly expressed disappointment, saying:

Another tough loss - disappointing. Opportunities could have been different, but it’s the way it’s going right now. [We just have to] keep fighting.

Preds Head Coach Andrew Brunette also shared his thoughts:

It was a great effort, we played really well but didn’t get the result. I think we're all a little bit frustrated over it, but we’ve got to go through this.

Brunette emphasized the importance of perseverance, expecting the team to

keep fighting
moving forward.
