Runaway Livestock Trailer Collides With School Bus

A Wayne County school bus driver was injured Thursday morning after a small livestock trailer detached from a truck and collided with the bus near the intersection of Brogden Road and Massey-Holt Road, in eastern Johnston County.

The crash occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m., according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Authorities said the trailer became disconnected from the vehicle towing it and slammed into the front of the school bus, causing significant damage.

Nine students were on board at the time of the collision, but officials confirmed that none of them were injured. The bus driver sustained injuries and received medical attention at the scene.
