Mayoral Candidate Acquitted of Child Molestation Charges

A mayoral candidate in Statesboro was acquitted of child molestation charges nearly 20 years ago.

Raymond L. Harris, the candidate, was charged with three counts of aggravated child molestation and one count of statutory rape in Clayton County.

A judge dismissed one of the charges, and a jury found Harris not guilty of the other three.
