Since 2016, Rich Collins has been conducting night dives off the coast of Palm Beach, Florida, to capture blackwater photography.
These nighttime dives provide a unique perspective on the lives of sea creatures that usually stay hidden in deeper waters but surface at night to feed.
These observations are described in a recent paper published in the Journal of Fish Biology, co-authored by Collins.
Collins and his fellow divers have observed these interactions over the years.
Author's summary: Night dives uncover fish-anemone alliances.
