Zimbabwe Endorses Tanzania's Disputed Elections

Zimbabwe's government has endorsed the disputed elections held in Tanzania, with President Emmerson Mnangagwa congratulating President Samia Suluhu Hassan on her victory.

Amid a contested electoral outcome, Tanzania's Independent National Electoral Commission declared Hassan the winner with 31.91 million votes, representing 97.66 percent of the vote.

Hassan is now derogatorily known on social media as "Madam Dictator"

Hassan is expected to be sworn in on November 3, 2025.

The elections sparked nationwide protests that left several dead, following the disqualification and incarceration of an opposition leader.
