The Calvin Institute of Christian Worship (CICW) is celebrating Calvin University's 150th anniversary with a theme of "Dwelling in the Psalms", featuring 150 psalms for 150 years.
The CICW aims to connect Calvin's Reformed heritage with the global and ecumenical practice of psalm singing, bringing together students, faculty, churches, and artists to explore how the psalms form worship, faith, and community.
The yearlong festival began on January 28 with "Psalm Singing and the Genevan Psalter". Dr. Henry from the Meeter Center for Calvin Studies spoke on the origins and impact of psalm singing in the Reformed tradition.
John Calvin, with poets Clément Marot and Théodore Beza, developed the Genevan Psalter.
Author's summary: Calvin University celebrates 150 years with 150 psalms.
