Hendrix College's Department of Music presents "Your Brain on Art: Music and Well-Being," a concert series inspired by research on the arts' impact on health and human flourishing.
The concert series will premiere on November 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Worsham Performance Hall and again on November 9 at 5 p.m. at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville.
Students from the Hendrix Chamber Orchestra, Choir, and Wind Ensemble have studied the book "Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us" by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross, exploring music's role in emotional, cognitive, and social well-being.
The book's core ideas are brought to life through music, showcasing the transformative power of the arts.
