Integration of Health Services Vital for Sustaining HIV Gains

Amidst dwindling donor funding, integration of services is crucial to ensuring progress in the fight against HIV is not reversed, says Douglas Bosire, acting CEO of the National Syndemic Disease Control Council (NSDCC).

Speaking at the Africa Health Systems Forum 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya, Bosire emphasized the importance of sustainable health financing. The forum was themed 'The Case for Sustainable Health Financing and Africa's Way Forward.'

However, a stop order by the US government in early 2025 threatened this progress. The US is the second largest contributor to HIV funding in Kenya, after the Global Fund.

Donor funding has contributed significantly to Kenya's progress in HIV treatment and prevention.
