Zambia Cracks Down on Poor Network Service Providers

Poor network service is now a punishable offense for Zambia's mobile network operators.

Zambia's state-run regulator, Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA), has given the country's mobile operators a 21-day ultimatum to improve their services.

"The people of Zambia are no longer pleading, they are demanding better service,"

said Collins Mbulo, CEO of ZICTA. The ultimatum, which started on November 4, demands immediate improvements in the quality and resilience of electronic communication services.
