Edinburgh Trams to Commemorate Remembrance Day
Edinburgh Trams will honor Remembrance Sunday on 9 November and Armistice Day on 11 November to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in World War I, World War II, and more recent conflicts.
To recognize the sacrifices made by armed forces members, veterans and active personnel from the Army, Navy, and Air Force will be offered free tram travel on both days. They can access this by showing their military ID or wearing their uniform.
Remembrance Activities
- Poppy Scotland representatives will be present at the Haymarket tram stop selling poppies before the remembrance days.
- Poppies will also be displayed in tram windows as a symbol of respect.
- Where safety permits, tram services will pause at 11 a.m. on both Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day to observe a two-minute silence.
