The City of Brampton will hold two Remembrance Day events on November 11: a parade and a remembrance ceremony at city hall.
The main ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. at Ken Whillans Square in front of city hall (2 Wellington St. W.), where the Brampton Cenotaph stands. Earlier that day, a sunrise service will take place at 7:55 a.m. at Meadowvale Cemetery Church (7732 Mavis Rd.).
Although Remembrance Day is not a statutory holiday, several services and businesses will be closed, including:
Beer Stores and LCBO locations will be open but with reduced hours, opening at noon in Brampton.
City hall and some municipal facilities will be closed on November 11. However, Brampton Transit will run on its regular weekday schedule. Veterans wearing medals, uniforms, or presenting service passes can ride free all day.
