PM: Salary Review Not Delayed Over Financing
The Prime Minister denied that the civil service salary review was delayed due to funding constraints.
Philip Davis KC stated that the delay was due to the scale and complexity of the task, ensuring that the new salary adjustments for over 15,000 public officers were accurate and fair.
"The delay was not a cash flow problem. It was an administrative process making sure the new salary adjustments for more than 15,000 public officers were accurate, fair and then right the first time. I’m satisfied we have resolved the issues,"
He reassured public servants that they will be paid before Christmas, emphasizing his role in representing all Bahamians.
