Director Scott Cooper spoke to MOJO about his experience working with Bruce Springsteen and Jeremy Allen White on the new biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere.
Cooper recalled the moment when Springsteen visited the set, just four days into shooting, and how it affected him:
Bruce came out of the movie with tears in his eyes...
The film is based on Warren Zanes' 2023 Nebraska-era biography and stars Jeremy Allen White as Springsteen. Cooper admitted to feeling pressure when making a film about a cultural icon like Springsteen, but noted that the Boss was never directive during the filming process.
As Cooper stated:
Look, any time you’re making a film about a cultural icon and someone who’s as legendary as Bruce, there’s always trepidation, right?
