Food Price Increases to be Halted in Kazakhstan
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting to discuss the President’s directive on economic reform, as reported by the government’s press service.
To prevent price increases for socially significant food products, the government will strengthen stabilization funds by doubling financial support for domestic agricultural producers.
Special attention is being paid to strengthening the work of regional commissions to identify unjustified intermediaries and cases of inflated trade markups.
- The measure is expected to reduce the cost of essential food items.
- Starting October 16, the increase of utility tariffs for all consumer groups will be suspended until the end of the first quarter of 2026.
