Trump Commutes George Santos' Prison Sentence
President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he is commuting the prison sentence of former Congressman George Santos.
In a Truth Social post, the president explained his decision, comparing Santos' situation to that of Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal, who falsely claimed to be a Vietnam veteran.
"This is far worse than what George Santos did, and at least Santos had the Courage, Conviction, and Intelligence to ALWAYS VOTE REPUBLICAN!"
Trump also stated that Santos has been "horribly mistreated" while in solitary confinement for long stretches of time.
