There was a strong demand for cows, with heavy steers and ox selling slightly dearer at the Moreton sale.

Agents Boyd O'Brien Bartholomew yarded 565 head of cattle at the Moreton saleyards on Tuesday, October 21.

Yearlings and weaners saw competition from a full panel of buyers, with the majority returning to the paddock.

Santa cross vealer males from S P Podlich sold to 449.2c/kg to return $814 a head. Charbray cross vealer heifers from H D and M A Williams made 340.0c/kg to return $1054.
