The Las Vegas Raiders faced another tough night on Thursday as quarterback Geno Smith suffered an injury and the team fell 10-7 to the Denver Broncos, marking their lowest point of the season.
Smith finished the game with 143 passing yards and one interception. His injury occurred early in the fourth quarter while scrambling past Denver linebacker Nik Bonitto. Bonitto made contact with Smith’s right knee, forcing the quarterback into an awkward fall before Malcolm Roach landed on him.
Backup quarterback Kenny Pickett briefly stepped in for Smith, who returned soon after but was later listed as questionable with a left quadriceps issue.
The Raiders’ injury troubles didn’t stop there. Guards Dylan Parham and Jackson Powers-Johnson both exited with ankle injuries. Coach Pete Carroll indicated that Powers-Johnson is expected to miss several weeks.
“It was a brutal night for the Raiders’ offense,” Coach Pete Carroll said, noting the team managed only 188 total yards.
Las Vegas now holds a disappointing 2-7 record, struggling to find momentum in a challenging season.
The Raiders’ loss to the Broncos deepened their struggles as Geno Smith and key linemen suffered injuries, leaving the offense stifled and morale low.
