A major two-alarm fire erupted Friday evening at the 400 block of West 23rd Street near Hampden Avenue in Remington, north Baltimore. The Baltimore Fire Department confirmed they were actively responding to the incident and coordinating efforts to contain the blaze.
“BCFD is currently on the scene of an active fire at the 400 block of W 23rd Street. Crews are working diligently to contain the blaze and ensure the safety of all individuals involved. Please avoid the area and updates will be provided as they are available.”
The fire broke out in a commercial building, prompting a second alarm for additional firefighting units and equipment. Initial reports suggested a person might have been trapped, but officials later confirmed everyone had exited safely.
Additional resources, including medics and support teams, were staged nearby to assist as firefighters battled the massive blaze.
