Hayley Williams has returned with a fresh single titled “Showbiz.” This release coincides with the long-awaited physical edition of her album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.
“Showbiz” is characterized by crisp drums, a vocoder-enhanced chorus, and shimmering synth layers. The track offers a romantic indie pop sound, with production by Williams and her collaborator Daniel James. Its smooth, syncopated grooves evoke the style of Phoenix, whom Williams recently sampled in her song “Love Me Different.”
While no official tour for Ego Death has been announced, Williams has hinted at plans through a photo found in the “trash” folder on her album’s release website. The photo shows a possible world tour schedule, listing cities such as Atlanta, Toronto, Nashville, Chicago, Austin, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, and more, along with some UK and European stops.
“Showbiz” follows another recent single, “Good Ol’ Days,” with both songs featured on the physical versions of Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.
"Showbiz is a more romantic indie pop offering from Williams, with production that recalls the smooth, syncopated grooves of Phoenix."
"The cities listed include Atlanta, Toronto, Nashville, Chicago, Austin, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, and several more North American cities, along with a handful of UK and European dates."
Summary: Hayley Williams introduces “Showbiz,” a romantic indie pop single supporting the physical release of her album, alongside hints of a potential world tour.
