Filipina idol Sophia Laforteza expressed disbelief and joy after learning that Katseye, the global girl group under HYBE, received Grammy nominations. She shared her spontaneous reaction through Instagram Stories.
“Oh my goodness,” Sophia wrote. “I can’t believe this,” she added in another post. In her third story, she said, “I’m dreaming.”
Katseye earned a nomination for Best New Artist alongside Olivia Dean, The Marias, Addison Rae, Sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, and Lola Young. Their track “Gabriela” is also up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Katseye made its debut in 2023 and visited Manila in 2024 for fan events, collaborations, and showcases. In June, the group released “Gabriela”, a Latin-inspired R&B-pop single accompanied by a telenovela-style music video featuring Hollywood actress Jessica Alba. Their discography also includes tracks such as “Gnarly,” “Gameboy,” “Touch,” and “Debut.”
Sophia Laforteza’s elated reaction reflects the growing global success of Katseye, whose Grammy nominations mark a significant milestone in their rising career.
