During her performance at the Waterbomb Festival in Macau on Sunday, K-pop artist HyunA suddenly collapsed on stage while performing her 2011 hit “Bubble Pop.” Dancers quickly came to her aid, and a bodyguard carried her backstage. The incident left fans deeply concerned, flooding social media with messages of support until HyunA later posted a health update.
"It was a short break between performances, but I wanted to show you my best. I don’t remember anything that happened, and I feel like I wasn’t professional," HyunA said. "I just want to say thank you for admiring, cherishing, and loving me since I was very young, even though I’ve always been lacking. Don’t worry about me."
HyunA later assured fans that she was recovering well after the incident. She explained that she suffers from vasovagal syncope, a condition that can cause sudden fainting spells and emotional distress, which she has experienced multiple times in the past.
Some fans linked the collapse to HyunA’s recent 10 kg weight loss over the past month, reportedly achieved through a strict diet. Though this raised discussion about her physical health, HyunA emphasized that she appreciates her fans’ concern and remains focused on recovering.
During her Macau performance, HyunA fainted due to her chronic condition, later reassuring fans of her recovery while addressing concerns about her recent drastic weight loss.
