Regional Forum Initiative Lacks Political Sense
The Voice of the People Party (VPP) has expressed concerns over the efforts of Pradyot Debbarma, Tripura royal scion and TIPRA Motha chief, to create a forum of regional parties in Northeast India.
According to VPP spokesperson Batskhem Myrboh, while the intention may be genuine, it lacks political sense for the indigenous tribals of Meghalaya.
Each state has its own specific politics.
The VPP believes that some of the political parties expected to be major partners in the proposed forum pose a greater threat to the people of Meghalaya than national parties.
