An Indigenous senator has intensified her criticism of King Charles III, accusing the British monarch of complicity in the “genocide” against Australia’s First Peoples.
Australian Senator Lidia Thorpe disrupted proceedings as King Charles and Queen Camilla attended a Parliamentary reception in Canberra, Australia.
She declared she will not be “shut down” in her criticism of the King.
Senator Thorpe's actions were a response to the historical treatment of Australia's First Nations peoples by the British monarchy.
