Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra's 2025 Festival

The annual Scottish improv summit returns with a global focus from 20-23 November.

The Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra (GIO) brings its 17th annual festival to the CCA, the city's Centre for Contemporary Arts, with an international line-up exploring improvisation across cultures.

International Line-up

This year highlights Gamelan music and Indonesian composition, presented with Glasgow's Gamelan Naga Mas and the collective Perempuan Komponis.

Featuring renowned vocal improviser Maggie Nicols, joined by Japanese trombonist Yasuko Kaneko, Scottish singer-songwriter Debbie Armour and Sri Lankan sound artist Isuru Kumarasinghe.

The collaboration showcases new perspectives on sound and gender.
