FDA Recalls Three Tomato Sauces Over Botulism Risk

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a nationwide recall of certain tomato sauce products due to potential contamination with Clostridium botulinum, the bacterium that causes botulism, a rare but potentially fatal foodborne illness.

Details of the Recall

First and Last Bakery, LLC, located in Hartford, Connecticut, initiated the recall after identifying possible contamination in three varieties of its tomato sauce. The affected products include:

The FDA regularly enforces recalls when food items are contaminated, mislabeled, or contain undeclared allergens to protect public health and ensure the safety of the national food supply.
