Great Barrington: Historian to present Knox Trail program
Local historian and author Gary Leveille will present a photographic talk on the 1776 Knox Trail expedition, which passed through the southern Berkshires.
The free program, sponsored by the Great Barrington Historical Society, explores Gen. Henry Knox’s winter mission to transport 60 tons of cannon from Fort Ticonderoga to Boston, passing through the southern Berkshires, to help secure an early victory for the Continental Army.
