Arkansas football has introduced a No. 5 jersey patch to honor Darren McFadden, a legendary player in the team's history.
The athletics department announced in July that McFadden's number would be honored, not retired, and a patch would be added to both the offensive and defensive jerseys.
"It's a conversation piece,"
McFadden said, who was honored on the field during Arkansas' game against Texas A&M.
McFadden, the Doak Walker Award winner and Heisman Trophy runner-up in both 2006 and 2007, joins Brandon Burlsworth's 77 and Clyde Scott's 12 on the south end zone videoboard at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
