Toyota Land Cruiser FJ Model Introduced
Toyota has created a new FJ version of the Land Cruiser, designed to act as an entry-level model to the lineup.
The FJ model is a more affordable option and is no longer just a product code, with Toyota stating it stands for Freedom & Joy, although this is not entirely accurate.
- The FJ model is 4.5 meters long, similar to the current retro-look Land Cruiser 250.
- The wheelbase is 270mm shorter, making it a kind of replacement for the old short-wheelbase Land Cruiser.
- The FJ has four doors, unlike the old short-wheelbase Land Cruiser which had two.
The FJ is launching with a 2.7-litre petrol engine and a six-speed automatic gearbox, but it's unclear if diesel, hybrid, or fully electric models are in the pipeline.
The FJ's cabin features twin digital screens and physical buttons, broadly lifted from the existing Land Cruiser.
Toyota says FJ now stands for Freedom & Joy.
