French Filmmaking Bodies Sign Landmark Agreement

French organizations representing writers and producers have signed an agreement to better recognize and compensate screenwriters of feature films.

The agreement, signed at the CNC's Paris headquarters, was backed by the CNC and signed by film producers organizations API, SPI, and UPC, as well as screenwriters association SCA, directors guild SRF, authors' rights group SACD, and writer-director-producer association ARP.

The 'Interprofessional Agreement on Contractual Practices between Screenwriters and Producers of Feature-Length Fiction Films' is the first to cover screenwriters and writer-directors of feature films.
