Mark Simpson to Serve as Next Chief Judge of Douglas County District Court

Judge Mark Simpson will succeed current Chief Judge James McCabria as the next chief judge for Douglas County District Court, as announced by the Kansas Judicial Branch.

Simpson's term will begin in January, following the expiration of McCabria's term in December. He expressed his honor to serve as chief judge, stating:

"I'm honored to serve as chief judge and pleased to continue working alongside the dedicated professionals at the Douglas County District Court."

As chief judge, Simpson will have general control over case assignments and supervisory authority over administrative and clerical functions, in addition to his judicial responsibilities.
