Sault Area Hospital is experiencing capacity pressures, with consistently over 300 in-patients and a high number of alternate level of care (ALC) patients.
According to SAH president and CEO Ila Watson,
“We have consistently greater than 300 in-patients in our facility and we struggle currently with a considerable number of alternate level of care patients”, with 79 ALC patients at the end of September.
This may lead to a 'service impact', with non-urgent elective services potentially being affected.
