Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant has made a confident prediction about rookie sensation Cooper Flagg, saying the young Mavericks player is on track for greatness.
Although Dallas has struggled this season, with a 2-5 record following a 110-102 loss to the Rockets on Monday, Durant remains impressed with Flagg’s potential.
“I think that he’s going to be a hell of a player,” Durant told DallasHoopsJournal.com. “I think that he’s going to be such a nightmare… that… he’ll be considered one of the best of all time.”
At 18 years old, the 6’9” forward has already shown signs of becoming an elite two-way player. Currently playing point guard under coach Jason Kidd, Flagg averages 13.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and three assists per game. Though these stats are modest, Durant believes they don’t reflect his full impact.
“I think that you’re going from in college playing four and five to playing point guard, two guard,” Durant explained. “That’s going to be an adjustment period for everybody. I hate to inject myself into his situation, but I came in college playing four, five. I came to the league playing a two.”
Durant’s endorsement highlights Flagg's adaptability and future potential despite the team's current struggles.
Summary: Kevin Durant praises rookie Cooper Flagg’s versatility and predicts he will become one of basketball's all-time greats, emphasizing his impressive transition and potential.
