Prisoners Charged with Murder of Kyle Bevan Appear in Court
West Yorkshire Police confirmed that Mark Fellows, 45, Lee Newell, 56, and David Taylor, 63, have each been charged with the murder of Kyle Bevan, 33, at HMP Wakefield.

On November 7, the three prisoners appeared separately before Leeds Magistrates' Court via video link from Havertop Police Station. The murder charge relates to the killing of Bevan, which occurred on November 5 at HMP Wakefield.

Officers were called to the prison around 8:25 a.m. on Wednesday after reports that an inmate was found dead in his cell. The Prison Service confirmed the deceased was Kyle Bevan, who was serving a life sentence for the murder of his partner’s two-year-old daughter, Lola James, in Pembrokeshire in 2020.
The Accused's Court Appearance
- All three men wore grey prison-issued sweatpants and tops.
- Each hearing lasted about one minute and was held separately.
- They were accompanied by police officers during the hearings.
District Judge Charlotte Holland said: "You are charged with one allegation of murder. That is so serious I therefore have to send you to Leeds Crown Court. The next hearing will be a plea and trial preparation hearing. I am not able to consider bail and so you will be remanded into custody."
